Let’s Talk About Letting Go (Or Trying To)
I watched P.S. I Love You the other night, you know, the one where her husband dies but leaves her letters to help her move on?
Some parts made me laugh. Others? Yeah… I had that lump-in-your-throat moment. But what really stayed with me was this: Until she was ready to let go, no letter, no matter how heartfelt could do it for her.
That hit.
So I started thinking about my own life, things I’ve done, and more honestly, the things I’ve left undone.
And I realised something: it’s easy to blame people or lean on excuses. But if you want something to shift? You have to move first.
Scary? I know. (Gentlest pat!)
I know it means leaving what’s familiar, even when that “familiar” isn’t working anymore.
Too deep? Okay, let me back up.
Have you ever wanted a change so badly, but also… not really. because you do not know where to begin? Yep. Me too.
I bought self-help books. I stacked them on my bedside table like some motivational fortress. And guess what?
I never opened a single one.
Apparently, looking at the books doesn’t cause magical inner transformation (who knew!).
I actually have to read them. Digest them. Apply what they say.
Sigh.
Now here’s where I land.
They say the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step, right?
Let’s start with that step. Not tomorrow. Not next week. Now.
Just one thing:
A page a day.
An extra step a day.
A moment to think, to pray, to breathe, to choose something better.
Let’s make a pact, you and me, to write our script. One scene at a time.
You in?
As always, thanks for reading.
Let's journey together word by word.
